City of Pine Lake
The City Pine Lake, Georgia, will host its annual fall festival, LakeFest, on October 1 and 2. LakeFest is two days of art, music, food and family fun on the shores of beautiful Pine Lake. This highly interactive festival showcases handmade art and crafts by 45 local and regional artist vendors, poetry by notable Georgia writers, and live music in a variety of styles. Activities include kids’ crafts, chalk drawing and sandcastle contests, street performers, workshops and a pet show.
One highlight of the weekend will be FLOATZILLA, a floating parade with wildly decorated watercraft. This year’s special guests leading the parade will be “The Seed and Feed Marching Abominables!” The music stage will have a full schedule of bands and performers both days. To add to your festival experience, “conversation coves” are located among the vendors. These cozy spots provide a place to rest, grab a snack, chat with artists or other festival goers, or just relax and enjoy the lake and surrounding wetlands.
Admission and parking are free: park at the entrance to the city and take a free shuttle to the lake. Pine Lake is located 12 miles East of Atlanta, between Decatur and Stone Mountain, off Rockbridge Road, at 4620 Lakeshore Drive, Pine Lake, GA 30072.
