Join Elise Witt, Global Village Project, and a veritable Who’s Who of Southeast musicians to celebrate the release of ALL SINGING: The Elise Witt Songbook.
For Atlanta songwriter Elise Witt, music has been a passport to a wild and wonderful series of adventures and collaborations. With her concerts of Global, Local & Homemade Songs™ and her Impromptu Glorious Chorus™ workshops, Elise creates and connects singing communities around the world.
On Saturday, Nov. 23, a veritable Who’s Who of Southeastern musicians will celebrate the release of ALL SINGING: The Elise Witt Songbook. The concert will benefit Global Village Project (GVP), a special purpose, arts infused middle school for teenage refugee girls.
As Director of Music Programs at GVP, Elise has helped to develop a curriculum using singing as a primary focus for teaching English to students from Afghanistan, Burma, Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Iraq, Malaysia, Nepal, Somalia, Syria, Tanzania, and Central African Republic.
ALL SINGING: The Elise Witt Songbook is a collection of 58 original songs with music notation, lyrics and chords, plus photos, graphics, and lots of stories. There are songs in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German, as well as two songs written with GVP students, highlighting Elise’s patented style of Polyrhythmic Multi-lingual Musical Collages.
Coming together to perform songs from ALL SINGING: The Elise Witt Songbook is a wide array of Elise’s musical cohorts, including: Caroline Aiken; CubanaSong; David Marcus; The Deans; DeDe Vogt; Deidre McCalla; Diane Durrett & Melissa Junebug; Divas; Eugene Wolf; Gayanne Geurin; Jessica Lily; John McCutcheon; Joyce & Jacque; Ken Gregory; Kimberli Render; Lisa Mount-Ann Kilkelly-Carol Burch Brown; Mick & Evan Kinney; The Mosiers; Rosin Sisters; Sara Moylan; Tony Godwin; Travis McAfee; Veronika Jackson and the Global Village Chorus.
